With gyms closed across the planet due to CV-19 fears, it appears the buffed amongst us are prepared to pay big bucks to keep our muscles in check during lockdown.
Here in Australia, there’s even been media reports of chancers trying to flog a rusty set of dumbells online for $400 and a second-hand weights bench for $500.
Enter French fashion house Louis Vuitton who has just unveiled a new line of fitness apparatus that is so mind-boggingly expensive you’d think the world had gone mad (had the world already not gone mad).
The range includes two (hardly straining) 2.7-kilo dumbbells selling for a staggering $3400. There’s a skipping rope retailing for $836. A volleyball that’ll set you back a cool $3400 and a ping-pong set with two bats and four balls in a case for $2850.
All the items feature luxury details like the famous Monogram Eclipse, leather and the LV Circle signature and are available via Louis Vuitton’s website. And don’t fear if they’re out of stock, you can sign up for notifications to find out when the will become available again.
Describing the dumbells on its website, the company said: “These Dumbbells have a striking aesthetic and sporty appeal. They are an ideal gift for those who wish to exercise in style or elevate their home gym with exclusive Louis Vuitton details.
