Leo Burnett Melbourne Appoints New Head Of Social

Leo Burnett Melbourne has announced the promotion of Christopher Steele to head of social media.

Steele is an expert in digital marketing, social media strategy and community management, with over six years experience.

Since joining Leo Burnett two years ago, Steele has worked across a wide range of accounts, and has helped deliver award-winning integrated ideas like #SPC Sunday and Slurpee ‘Xpandinator’.

He was previously group social media manager for Australia’s largest ecommerce group, catchoftheday.com.au, with its stable of market-leading daily deal sites, including catchoftheday, scoopon and groceryrun. Prior to that, Steele spent two years on the social team at EB Games.

Melinda Geertz, CEO Leo Burnett Melbourne, said: “Chris earns our respect every day. He has a wealth of digital and social media expertise, but more importantly, he brings intelligence, ambition, humanity and passion to this part of our business. Social is a vital and growing service for us, and Chris will lead that discipline brilliantly.”

“We are proud to yet again promote talent from within the agency to a key role, and we congratulate Chris on his well deserved promotion.”

Steele added: “I’m thrilled to be part of an agency that values social as a channel for creativity and where I can be part of a dynamic integrated team. It’s an honour to take on this new leadership role at Leo Burnett.”
