As Kia celebrates 21 years as a major partner of the Australian Open, the brand is upping the ante for attendees at this year’s event unveiling the ‘Kia Halo’.
The ‘Kia Halo’, is a world-first immersive experience that will showcase the Kia EV6 for the first time in Australia and power elements of the activation.
The EV6 will take centre stage in the immersive and curvaceous 360-degree bespoke structure, with Australian tennis favourites Dylan Alcott (Pictured above) and Nick Kyrgios alongside the vehicle in the form of a life-size hologram portal.
The motion-activated holograms will allow guests to interact with the tennis legends as they pass by.
Elevated on a bed of 250 aluminium rods choreographed to dance in a wave-like motion, the Kia EV6 display is an interpretation of Kia’s brand evolution.
At Kia Halo, Australian Open attendees can listen to a unique custom produced music track, based on neuroscientific pink noise research.
The soundscape is inspired by nature and will help bring the listener into a more creative state of mind.
Kia Australia, general manager of marketing, Dean Norbiato said, “As we celebrate 21 years of partnership with the Australian Open, we’re looking forward to welcoming fans back to Melbourne Park this year.”
“To mark the occasion, we’re proud to unveil the EV6, which is powering elements of the Kia Halo activation, showcasing our commitment to sustainability.”
The recently unveiled Kia Arena allows tennis fans to enjoy matches in the newly built 5,000 seat stadium.
Kia has also provided a 130-strong fleet of cars in which players, officials, media, and VIP guests will be transported securely and in style.
The fleet will include 10 of the new EV6 vehicles with a focus on sustainability.
The electric vehicle enables over 510km of driving when fully charged and takes less than 18 minutes to charge from 10 per cent to 80per cent.
The Kia Halo activation and a collection of Kia’s EV6 vehicles will be on display on Grand Slam Oval at the Australian Open from Monday 17th January for two weeks.
The Kia EV6 will be available in Australia from February 2022.
