Kate Langbroek kept it real and raw when she apologized to Waleed Aly on her radio show for accidentally insulting him.

Langbroek occasionally co-hosts Aly’s show, The Project. Plus, they are two television personalities in Melbourne. So, we just assume they see each other all the time. You know, they must hang out and drink good quality coffee and wear puffer jackets.

Langbroek decided to use Aly being a guest on her KIIS radio show to apologise for a jab she’d made at him backstage on The Project.

News.com.au reported that Langbroek said: “I thought we were having a high-spirited, fun conversation,” she said but then added, “It didn’t seem to go over so well.”

Langbroek had jokingly told Aly, “As a lawyer, your personality is an asset. If you weren’t a lawyer, your personality would be a liability.”

The joke went down behind the scenes of The Project when they were getting glam to go on television.

Aly wasn’t impressed by Langbroek’s crack and said: “I remember immediately conveying that I was offended because I just thought, hang on, you are saying that in most contexts that people live and the context in which I currently live, my personality is a liability.”

Langbroek then offered a sincere apology and said: “I’d be devastated if you thought I had anything other than very hard-won respect and love for you. I am extremely sorry.”

Naturally, Aly accepted the apology but did get a jab in and replied: “The obvious meaning to be attributed to your words was offensive. There was no mental gymnastics to get to that point.

“Anyway, the love is entirely mutual, and I want you to know, that I would not regard your personality as a liability under any circumstance.”

All is well; that ends well!
