Involved Media Promotes Dan Hojnik To GM

Independent media agency Involved Media has announced the appointment of Dan Hojnik to general manager.

Reporting to Involved Media and Active International Australia group managing director, Sarah Keith, Hojnik is responsible for Involved Media’s clients, operations and staff in all markets.

Hojnik was previously head of strategy and planning at Involved Media. He joined the business in January 2021 from the London media agency The Specialist Works. His resume also includes senior roles at Carat UK, UM Melbourne and Initiative Melbourne.

Keith said: “I’m delighted to welcome Dan to his new role. He has made a great contribution to our business, winning new clients, growing our existing clients and taking our strategy and planning skills and performance to a new level.

“Dan’s work has made a real difference for our clients, giving them smart thinking and a clear competitive advantage. His role will now expand to ensure that this thinking is embedded in the operational day to day of the business, as he nurtures and retains talent and continues to grow our media partnerships.”

Hojnik said: “Working alongside Sarah to build and shape the Involved Media team has been a career highlight for me. Not only have we developed a future-facing media agency proposition which is resonating with existing and new client partners, we have cemented Involved Media as a leading name among the independents and in the wider market.

“I am delighted to be taking on a greater leadership role as we continue to deliver growth for brands.”

Hojnik’s promotion follows a string of client wins and executive appointments at Involved Media over the past 18 months.

New clients have included NordicTrack, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Crayola and Releaf Group.

Earlier this year, Chris Thomas was appointed head of digital across both Involved Media and Active International Australia. One of Australia’s most experienced digital marketing executives, Thomas was Head of digital at Publicis Media for almost four years, until April 2021.

Last year, Involved Media added several other executives including group account directors Sophie Carkeek and Jessica Torstensson, and Cristina Spizzica as digital strategist.
