For a game that’s basically hitting a ball over a net, often for as much as five hours, tennis can prove a tough one to commentate on.
That said, Channel Nine’s team is again doing a superb job with its coverage of the Australian Open currently happening in sunny Melbourne.
However, things did take a saucy twist during Friday’s match between Kateryna Baind and Jeļena Ostapenko when one of Nine’s commentators posed the rather probing question: “How do you respond to deep hard balls?”
Her fellow commentator responded: “Yeah, you’ve got to really stay nice and low” before the two break out in a fit of giggles. Check it out below:

Meanwhile, one particularly gassy fan was having none of the umpire’s “quiet, please”, apparently letting out a tremendous fart at the end of Saturday’s match between Elise Mertens and Aryna Sabalenka.
Yet again, the commentators handled the fan’s emission with aplomb.
“What was that?” enquired one of the commentators.
“Some sort of indescribable noise from the crowd,” was the delicate response.
