Boutique PR agency Papaya has been appointed by Hort Innovation to deliver national foodservice marketing programs for Australian Avocados and Australian Mushrooms.
Papaya will work directly with chefs, cafés, QSRs, restaurants and hospitality operators to increase usage, menu adoption and category growth for these Australian produce items. Hort Innovation also works with Thinkerbell on advertising and marketing services.
Papaya’s approach with Australian Avocados will focus on developing a fully integrated foodservice hub which includes chef engagement programs, recipe development and practical guides that showcase avocado’s versatility beyond smash and guacamole.
In the Australian Mushrooms program, Papaya will bring to life the category’s versatility and flavour-forward potential, aimed at strengthening the category’s presence in commercial kitchens and encouraging increased usage.
“Chefs are some of the most creative storytellers in our industry and these foodservice programs are about giving them new ways to bring Australian produce to life. Both avocado and mushrooms have untapped potential in commercial kitchens and we’re excited to see Papaya inspire operators to help these everyday favourites show up in more delicious ways across menus nationwide,” Hort Innovation’s marketing manager Victoria Zourkas said.
“We are delighted to partner with Hort Innovation as the opportunity to expand usage in foodservice for both mushrooms and avocados is phenomenal. Our work with the two categories will focus on inspiring chefs and operators while supporting growers and the broader industry,” Papaya’s founder and director Catherine Slogrove added.
Papaya’s portfolio spans a wide range of fresh produce and hospitality clients, including Australian Barramundi Farmers Association, Australian Organic Limited, Australian Abalone Growers Association, Bruemar Pork, Pace Farm Eggs, Bayfield Hotel Group and Gin Lane Sydney.
