Fox news anchor Bill Hemmer has come to the internet’s attention after he seemed to believe that Karl Marx wrote Mein Kampf.
Hemmer seemingly failed to remember that Mein Kampf is the work of dictator Adolf Hitler and not the work of philosopher Karl Marx, during a segment on Fox’s American Newsroom.
The mistake occurred when the hosts were discussing if critical race theory should be taught in elementary schools in America.
Hemmer weighed in and said, “At a college level this is fair game.”
Hemmer, then said: “I remember being 20 years old going to Trier, Germany and trying to find the home of Karl Marx cuz, y’know, 1848, he wrote Mein Kampf. I want to know what it’s all about.”
Later in the programme, The Fox News anchor clarified his comments, Hemmer said: “I misspoke. 1848. Karl Marx. The Communist Manifesto”
However, the anchor mistaking The Communist Manifesto for Mein Kampf – didn’t go unnoticed by a little thing called the Internet.
Twitter had a lot to say:
@BillHemmer not knowing Adolf Hitler wrote Mein Kampf pretty much sums up FOX *news*

That statement alone pretty much sums up the talent at Fox @BillHemmer — lots of sound and fury signifying not the slightest idea about anything they're talking about.
