Former Ninemsn commercial director and Microsoft Asia ad boss Jason Scott has joined Allure Media as chief executive officer.
Scott has returned to Australia after five overseas to take up the position, and will replace founding CEO Chris Janz who has decided to leave the business.
Scott, who has been working with Allure in an advisory role over the past few months, said he is looking forward to being back in the Australian market.
“I am excited to be joining Allure Media,” he said. “It’s truly one of the new breed of digital media businesses with an impressive stable of world-class brands and partners.”
“I have seen first-hand the success of its brands overseas and we are well on the way to replicating that success here in Australia with the talented team on the ground.”
He joins the agency having previously worked for Microsoft advertising, where he was general manager for Asia. Before that, he led Microsoft’s global agency strategy from the US.
Prior to that Scott was based in Sydney as Ninemsn’s commercial director, but left along with several other senior executives in 2008.
"Allure is in its strongest position yet, we're posting record readership and revenue results, and I believe now is the right time for a new pair of hands to drive the next stage of the company’s growth,” said Janz.
