Simon Lamplough has been named 303’s Perth CEO following its acquisition of Marketforce’s creative business from Omnicom.

Lamplough’s appointment also follows the departure of 303 Mediahub MD René Migliore earlier this year. Lamplough will be charged with leading 303 Perth’s integrated creative, strategy, data and analytics offering, including its media capability through 303 Mediahub.

Lamplough had previously been chief customer officer at Kitchen Warehouse, he announced his departure following a four-year stint at the retailer a few weeks ago. Lamplough has also previously served as MD of Clemenger BBDO Melbourne.

Sue Squillace, CEO Attivo Group, 303 and Mediahub said the significant appointment had come at a crucial point of expansion for 303.

“Simon is well known for being a great leader and strategic operator that is well connected both within the East and West Australian markets,” she said. “His experience both within agencies and client-side will bring a deep understanding of our current and future clients’ challenges, and how best to meet them. He’s also a great fit for the agency and will work well with our existing leadership team. We can’t wait for him to get started.”

Following Migliore’s departure, GM Kylie Macey and chief strategy officer Matt Oakley have been overseeing the Perth office.

Attivo and 303 executive chairman Anthony Gregorio said: “Kylie and Matt have done an outstanding job of running the agency during a busy period, whilst we searched for a new Perth leader. In recognition and the expanding remit of the agency they have been promoted to managing partners.

“We’re thrilled to have Simon join when 303’s ambitious growth strategy is coming to fruition. With new staff, expanded capabilities and ongoing new business, it’s a great time to have someone as talented as Simon join the team to lead it into its next chapter.”

Lamplough said: “Moving client-side after years of agency leadership has been a great experience, and it was particularly satisfying to be part of a team that championed creativity to drive exceptional year-on-year growth. But it is time for a new challenge. I’ve always admired 303’s challenger mindset, its strong reputation for creative problem solving and nimble approach, so the opportunity to lead its Perth team at a time of rapid expansion was one I jumped at.”

Beyond the acquisition of Marketforce’s creative capability, 303 Mediahub also recently hired seven new staff and won a raft of new business including Australian Cancer Research Foundation, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea brand refresh for Cancer Council, and Melanoma Australia, while also being appointed to the WA Government CUA panel for Media Strategy and Buying.
