Ex-Droga5 CEO & Comms Council Chairman Sudeep Gohil Joins KPMG Australia

KPMG Australia has announced the appointment of Sudeep Gohil as its head of brand strategy.

Gohil was most recently the managing partner and chief strategy officer of Publicis Worldwide in India. He was also previously the CEO and founder of Droga5’s Sydney office, and chairman of The Communications Council.

Following eight years at Droga5, Gohil co-founded health-tech start-up Tyde in Australia.

At KMPG, Gohil will play two key roles: working as part of its Customer, Brand and Marketing Advisory (CBMA) business helping clients with brand strategy; and working with KPMG on providing strategic guidance for the firm’s own brand and market positioning.

Paul Howes, partner-in-charge of KPMG CBMA, said: “We are delighted to be bringing Sudeep into the KPMG team.

“His global viewpoint, in-depth experience working on marketing strategy for leading brands and his entrepreneurial approach fit perfectly what our clients are looking for.”

Margaret Cowle, national managing partner of brand and engagement at KPMG Australia, added: “Besides capturing his skills for the benefits of our clients, Sudeep will also play an important role in shaping KPMG’s own brand in Australia.

“We are incredibly excited to have him join the firm.”

Commenting on his appointment, Gohil said: “I’m immensely pleased to be joining the team at KPMG. Moving back to Australia, I wanted to be 100 per cent sure I joined a genuinely forward-thinking company with significant opportunity for growth.

“KPMG is all that and much more. The opportunity to be part of such a dynamic business in a rapidly evolving environment is energising and I can’t wait to start making an impact.”

Gohil’s appointment comes after former Publicis exec Andrew Baxter and ex-Zenith managing director Karen Halligan joined KPMG earlier this year.
