Independent Coogee-based creative agency Emotive has strengthened its account management team with three new hires: Tian Skene as business director, Jessica Nord as account director and Claire O’Sullivan as senior account manager.
Skene joins Emotive following senior roles at BMF, where she led the ALDI account, and most recently at independent agency DO, where she was client service director. At Emotive, she will lead THE ICONIC and Coca-Cola’s alcohol ready-to-drink portfolio, while also playing a key role in new business.
“The ambition at Emotive is infectious. I knew immediately I wanted to be part of it. Genuinely good people who care deeply about the work, their clients and most importantly each other,” commented Skene.
Nord also arrives from BMF, where she was account director across Westpac, Amazon Ring, Zoetis and Tourism Tasmania. At Emotive, she will work across an expanding client portfolio including Activision and Perfection Fresh.
“What drew me to Emotive is how naturally strategy and craft sit together here. It’s rare to find an agency that backs big thinking as much as it delivers on bringing brilliant work to life. After nearly a decade dividing my time between creative and digital agencies, that’s exactly the environment I do my best work in, and I can’t wait to bring that to Emotive’s clients,” said Nord.
And O’Sullivan joins from Dublin independent Boys + Girls, where she was account manager across The Musgrave Group and Three Mobile, bringing experience from one of the world’s most creatively distinctive advertising markets. She will work across Google and Breville alongside business director Monika Vidovic.
“Moving from Dublin to Sydney, after working across both networks and independents, I wanted somewhere with real independent spirit and creative ambition. I found it here. Brilliant people who take the work seriously without taking themselves too seriously, and a belief in ideas that change how people feel. That’s what drew me to advertising in the first place,” added O’Sullivan.
“Account management is one of the most underrated crafts in our industry. It is the job of understanding an idea well enough to carry it, then ensuring its potential is maximised as it travels across increasingly complex ecosystems. Just as importantly, it means being the glue that brings client and agency together as one team. Tian, Jessica and Claire are all brilliant at it, and all three come to us from excellent creative agencies. A front cover announcement felt about right,” said founder and CEO Simon Joyce,
The appointments follow a run of new business wins for the independent agency, including THE ICONIC, Nespresso, El Jannah and North by AMP.
