The ABC has appointed Droga5’s chief client officer Belinda Drew as head of marketing. She begins her new role in early 2026.
Drew, widely regarded as one of the top client services leads in Australia, will reunite with the ABC’s director of audiences Milla McPhee, who previously worked at Droga5 as chief strategist and joined Aunty in September.
“This appointment reinforces our commitment to showcasing Australia’s creative excellence, not just in our content, but in our marketing as well,” McPhee said.
“Belinda’s reputation for creative leadership and evidence-based marketing effectiveness will help us deepen the connection between the ABC and our audiences.”
Drew joined The Monkeys (now Droga5) in 2020. She has led the client services team working on iconic brands including Telstra, Qantas, Meat & Livestock Australia and Global Suntory Spirits.
During her time at Droga5, the agency has won numerous awards at Cannes Lions, Cairns Crocodiles, the B&T Awards, D&AD and the One Show.
Previously, Drew was the chief client partner at Leo and has held senior account director roles at TBWA\Australia, Ogilvy and George Patterson Y&R.
Outside of her day job, Drew has a long-term partnership with UN Women Australia and has led pro bono gender equality campaigns—most notably ‘When Will She Be Right?’. Drew also lectures at the Advertising Council’s AdSchool Account Leadership course and mentors for The Marketing Academy.
Drew has been recognised five times in five years at the B&T Women in Media Awards, picking up the Client Services Award this year.
