according to Spotify data analysed by Pure Property Finance, Parton’s 1980 hit was the second most featured song on office playlists.

Number one was ‘Crazy’ by Gnarls Barkley.

Pure Property Finance analysed 100 Spotify playlists with ‘office’ or ‘work’ in the title to reveal which songs, artists and albums were most commonly featured.

The top ten songs featured on these playlists were:

1.  Crazy – Gnarls Barkley

2.  9-5 – Dolly Parton

3.  Home – SEVENTEEN

4.  Senorita – Justin Timberlake

5.  The Middle – Zedd

6.  Heaven – Bryan Adams

7.  Stay – Zedd

8.  Diamonds – Rihanna

9.  Kiss You – One Direction

10. Shake it Off – Taylor Swift

A real range there, and shout-out to the person who wants to listen to Zedd’s dance tracks while filling in excel spreadsheets.

Taylor Swift, with her extensive catalogue of albums, was the artist that is featured the most. ‘Shake it Off’ was the highest featured song of hers at the number 10, the perfect tune to blast after a work presentation gone wrong.

The top artists in the list were:

1.  Taylor Swift

2.  Ed Sheeran

3.  Justin Bieber

4.  Bruno Mars

5.  Luke Bryan

6.  Carrie Underwood

7.  Shawn Mendes

8.  Maroon 5

9.  The Weeknd

10. Justin Timberlake

As for albums, Madonna takes home the most commonly featured album with her ‘Celebration’ album, released in 2009. If you can’t be on a dancefloor, why not play Queen Madge in the office we say!

The other top featured albums played in the office include:

1.  Celebration – Madonna

2.  Best Of – Vanessa Carlton

3.  Doo-Wops and Hooligans – Bruno Mars

4.  Purpose – Justin Bieber

5.  Crash my Party – Luke Bryan

6.  Carnival Ride – Carrie Underwood

7.  ÷ – Ed Sheeran

8.  Justice – Justin Bieber

9.  Justified – Justin Timberlake

10. Starboy – The Weeknd

Ben Lloyd, managing director of Pure Property Finance, said, “we find finance for many businesses and property investors buying offices and we often wonder what happens within them once the people move in.”

“Speaking to one client recently and hearing a favourite song playing in the background led us to chat about music and ponder whether we thought the Pure Property Finance musical tastes matched those of other office workers around the world. Turns out, we have similar songs featured in ours, so we must be pretty on trend!”
