Small changes to how people Eat.Play.Rest can have a significant impact on the
brain and broader health and are key to a powerful and practical new campaign to raise
awareness about living a brain-healthy lifestyle.
An initiative of Dementia Australia, the peak body for dementia in Australia, the Eat.Play.Rest
campaign will kick off in March as part of Brain Awareness Week.
Eat, play and rest are three critical areas that contribute to living a brain-healthy lifestyle. Through
content, tips and advice, the campaign will aim to equip and empower people to eat well, play
often and rest regularly.
The campaign will partner with a range of national talent to share their personal tips and tricks for
how they eat, play and rest to boost their brain health, while people are also encouraged to share
their own journey online.
Like any muscle, the brain needs to be stimulated to stay strong. The Eat.Play.Rest campaign
shows that maintaining and improving brain health at any age can be fun and fulfilling with a
diverse range of easy to follow, accessible, inclusive, and colourful content to inspire change.
- Eat is developing healthy eating habits that include a varied diet and portion control. Following a
new recipe helps boost mental activity, while also increasing the variety of food eaten. - Play is encouraging laughter and learning through socialising, trying something new and being
physically and mentally active. - Rest is finding ways to relax and recharge, from creating healthy sleep patterns to mindfulness
and meditation.
The Eat.Play.Rest campaign features fabulous recipes and food inspo, fun and interactive
physical and mental activities, as well as creative ways to rest and recharge.
