Online food delivery company Deliveroo is expanding its services in a trial partnership with JD Sports through which it’ll deliver sneakers to its customers in record-times.
Tired of ordering those fancy new shoes online and waiting those unnecessary drawn out business days for them to arrive (especially when there’s a weekend in between?) Have a big sports game coming up and your own shoes are all worn-and-torn? Don’t fret! Now Deliveroo will be removing all that hassle to bring you your sweet new footwear in less than a few hours.

This partnership between Deliveroo and JD Sports is still on a trial basis and is unfortunately only available to those who live in the UK. It was made known through a Twitter post by UK shoe supplier Bennetts, with customers having to pay a 14.99 pound (around $AU26.5) delivery fee for their shoes. But hey, nothing beats having to wait those extra days, does it?
In regards to this new trial, a JD Sports representative said to The Sun: “The prospect of a partnership is exciting but any future decisions will be subject to further testing.”
Meanwhile, on Twitter, Vibe Tickets founder Luke Massie claimed he had heard about the upcoming collaboration while he was in a JD Store as a staff member explained that Deliveroo staff training had already begun.
More specifically, he wrote: “I was just in @JDSports and the young lad behind the counter apologised for my delay being served and said the reason was, staff are being trained on handling @Deliveroo orders. You’ll soon be able to order clothes from deliveroo in >2hrs.”

According to a Deliveroo spokesperson, this partnership will not be restricted to just shoes and sneakers but will also give customers the chance to purchase from the wide range of JD sports products: from football jerseys, to protective gear, etc.
Imagine that, wanting a fancy new Cristiano Ronaldo t-shirt and having it delivered to your house in less than the time it takes for Manchester United to find their way to the back of Everton’s net…
What a world we live in!
