Mamamia has appointed Danielle Rigg-Smith as NSW sales director. She began her new role this week.
Rigg-Smith takes up the position after a three-year stint in the UK, where she headed up agency partnerships for Pinterest across the UK, Ireland and Southern Europe.
Rigg-Smith, a B&T Women In Media finalist, is an accomplished and experienced sales leader, having previously led group sales across ViacomCBS, SBS and Southern Cross Austereo. More recently she held senior partnership roles at Pinterest, Snap and TikTok.
She joins Mamamia at a time of growth and transition with the business promoting Luca Lavigne to chief executive to replace Natalie Harvey, who recently moved to Southern Cross.
“Mamamia offers something special for advertisers in being such a trusted environment where audiences actively choose to listen, watch and engage with content they love,” Rigg-Smith said.
“Having led teams across some of the world’s leading digital platforms in Europe and Australia, I’m looking forward to bringing that experience home to help grow both existing and new partnerships across the Mamamia ecosystem.
“Even in my first few days, it’s clear there’s a serious ambition to challenge the status quo, drive meaningful change and take the business to the next level. There’s something magical about that kind of purpose.”
Rigg-Smith will report to Mamamia national sales director Lanai Wiadrowski.
“I’m thrilled Danielle is joining Mamamia as NSW Sales Director. She’s done standout partnership work at TikTok, Snap and Pinterest over the years, and she brings a real passion for people and partnerships to everything she does,” Wiadrowski said.
“There’s certainly plenty for Danielle to work with at Mamamia. She’s walking into a business with real momentum. Our audience is growing, our partnership model is evolving, and clients want deeper ways to reach Australian women, with creators they can trust.
“Danielle is the right person to help us lead that. Our NSW partners are in exceptional hands.”
