Global communications agency We Are Social has hired award winning creative director Oz Dean to join its Sydney office.

With 17 years experience working for digital, design and advertising agencies in London, Manchester, Sydney and Singapore, Oz Dean’s international resume includes work for clients including Singapore Airlines, Timberland, Heineken and Google.

Passionate about social, digital and creative technology, always with the big idea in mind, Oz strives to build collaborative relationships with people, departments, partner agencies and clients, making him a perfect fit for We Are Social. His worldview and creative talents will bring a unique perspective to the Sydney agency and benefit We Are Social’s growing client roster.

He is a multiple award winner, including a Gold and Bronze Lion, several Effies, an AME and most recently three Bronze trophies at the New York Festivals 2014. He led the TBWA DAN team that won Silver at New York Festivals 2012 and the Digital Agency of the Year at the Campaign Asia Pacific Awards in 2012 (Gold) and 2013 (Bronze). He has also offered his expertise to numerous judging panels including the 2013 Digital Grand Jury for New York Festivals.

Prior to joining DAN, Oz began his career in Manchester (UK) and moved to Sydney in 2000 to join global digital powerhouse OVEN Digital. He then spent time at Singleton Ogilvy & Mather before freelancing for several years. During this time he worked at some of Sydney’s best agencies, including Happy Soldiers, The Furnace, Pollen, Droga5, Deepend, Host and TBWA\ TEQUILA\ Sydney. In 2011 he joined TBWA\ TEQUILA\ Singapore from the Sydney office, where he was involved in driving campaigns for the agency’s major clients.

His creativity extends beyond the world of marketing. His successful career in art, where he works under the moniker of ‘forcefeed:swede’ has been celebrated in many publications and he has exhibited several projects at group shows in Tokyo, New York, London and Paris. He held his first solo exhibition in 2008 at MTV’s Sydney headquarters.

Julian Ward, Managing Director, We Are Social: “We are dedicated to putting social thinking at the heart of marketing. Oz has a genuine and proven ability to do just that – fusing digital, social and technology in creative ways that capture the imagination and motivate behaviour. Ultimately, We Are Social is about delivering innovative work for clients that taps into social and cultural value points, so people choose to engage with it. They want to tell our clients’ stories. We are excited about Oz’s addition to the team and the impact he will have for our clients going forward.”
