Content Summit will expand its 2027 program with the launch of the Content Summit Awards, a new national awards program recognising Australia’s best content marketing and social media work.
Introduced in the event’s fifth year, the awards will recognise work by brands, agencies, in-house teams, individual practitioners and creators across 18 categories.
Winners will be announced in front of hundreds of industry professionals at Brisbane Powerhouse on Wednesday 10 March 2027, following the second day of Content Summit. B&T editor Tom Fogden recently spoke at Content Summit.
Content Summit founder and The Content Division MD Brittanie English said the awards were a natural extension of the conference’s focus on advancing the craft and impact of content.
“For five years, Content Summit has brought the industry together to learn from the people doing exceptional work,” Ms English said. “The awards give us an opportunity to recognise that work formally and celebrate the people behind it.
“We wanted to create a program that reflects the breadth of the industry, from a single post that captures an audience’s attention to a long-term strategy that changes behaviour or delivers a meaningful commercial result.
“It was also important that the awards recognise the full ecosystem. Great content is being produced by agencies, brands, internal teams, individual practitioners and creators, often in very different environments and with very different resources.”
The Brand and Agency Track will recognise content developed to educate audiences, change behaviour, drive commerce and build communities, alongside dedicated categories for employee-generated content and creator partnerships.
Agency, team and individual honours will include Best Content Agency, Best Influencer Agency, Best Social Agency, Best In-House Team, Content Marketer of the Year and Social Media Manager of the Year.
A separate Creator Track, supported and presented by Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner, will celebrate excellence across educational content, entertainment, brand partnerships, individual posts and emerging creators.
It will also include Best Brisbane Storyteller, a category for Brisbane-based creators producing distinctive work about the city’s people, places and culture.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said Brisbane’s creators had an increasingly important role to play in showcasing their city locally, nationally and around the world.
“Brisbane creators are already showing audiences across Australia and overseas what makes our city special,” Cr Schrinner said.
“Every video, photo and story of Brisbane helps more people discover what makes our home Australia’s lifestyle capital.
“As Brisbane prepares to welcome the world in 2032, local creators will play an even bigger role telling our city’s story in their own authentic way.
“Supporting the Creator Track of the Content Summit Awards is an opportunity to recognise that contribution and encourage more local creators to tell Brisbane stories in their own voices.”
Entries will be assessed by an independent panel of senior industry practitioners, with judging criteria tailored to each category.
Campaign and content categories will generally be assessed across the strength of the objective, execution and outcomes, while agency, team and individual categories will consider creative and strategic excellence, impact, innovation and industry leadership.
English said the program had been designed to reward strong thinking and effective work regardless of the size of the entrant.
“We don’t want these awards to become a contest of who has the largest audience, budget or organisation,” she said.
“The judging is focused on what the entrant set out to achieve, the quality of the thinking and execution, and the evidence that the work made a difference.
“That means an emerging creator, a small in-house team or an independent agency can compete on the strength of their work.”
The awards are open to Australian-based brands, agencies, teams and individuals for work published or active between 1 December 2025 and 30 November 2026.
Creator categories are free to enter. Brand and agency category entries cost $395 plus GST, while people and team category entries cost $195 plus GST.
Applications open on 1 September 2026 and close on 30 November 2026. The shortlist will be announced on 8 February 2027.
The awards presentation will be followed by the official Content Summit afterparty. Tickets will be available for the full conference, awards and afterparty, or for the awards presentation and afterparty only.
The 2027 event will be held on 9 and 10 March at Brisbane Powerhouse.
