Coca-Cola Channels Its Inner Starsky & Hutch In Crazy Retro Car Chase Ad

Coca-Cola is channeling classic 70s police dramas to launch its new Orange Vanilla Coke flavour.

Taking a leaf out of the likes of iconic cop dramas such as Starsky & Hutch and The Streets Of San Francisco, Coca-Cola in the US is promoting the new flavour in a spot that features a Coke delivery van, a pick-up full of oranges, an ice-cream truck and a decidedly epic chase scene.

Titled “The Chase”, the spot’s the work of Coke’s incumbent agency, the legendary Wieden+Kennedy Portland, and also includes an extensive OOH iteration, too.

Commenting on the spot, Coke’s brand director, Kate Carpenter, said: “Our brief for the campaign was to have fun with flavours. We think this work brings to life the Coca-Cola personality in a playful, unexpected way.”
