The developers of Video game Clash Of Clans have enlisted Oscar-winning actor Christoph Waltz and The Late Late Show host James Corden to turn a real Clash of Clans attack into a bedtime story.
Clash of Clans is one of the most popular mobile games on the planet. With more than 100 million downloads on both Android and iOS, the game has its share of players. Released today in theaters as a short clip and advert, along with a new website is a brand new ad that takes a real attack and brings it to life.
This isn’t the first time Clash Of Clans have used celebrities in its ad; early this year Liam Neeson revived his character from the Taken series to promote the game.
According to Barton chief creative officer Gerry Graf, said: “Clash has such a massive community, and the players are uploading videos and screenshots of epic wins, losses and general creativity everyday. So, the ‘stories’ are being created everyday — we are just telling these real stories in a larger-than-life way.
Graf said the casting of Waltz was because: “We needed a great storyteller — someone [who] when they speak, you lean in and want to listen.” In the case of Corden: “He has to act like he is hearing the story for the first time. We needed a great actor with a childlike sense of wonder for that role.”
