Independent media agency, Match & Wood have been appointed by Chobani Australia for the Chobani and Gippsland Dairy brands following a competitive pitch process.
Match & Wood will now manage media strategy, planning and buying across all channels for Chobani’s yogurts and oat milk as well as its Gippsland Dairy yogurt range.
Since launching in Australia over a decade ago, Chobani has reshaped the yogurt category and is the number one yogurt brand in the country based on sales and household penetration.
In 2011, it acquired Gippsland Dairy and has expanded to new categories, moving into the fast growing non-dairy market with Chobani Oat Milk.
Last year it launched “Food Made Good”, a brand platform reflecting Chobani’s vision to make high quality, nutritious and delicious food accessible to all.
“We have ambitious plans for Chobani and Gippsland Dairy, focussing on the continued growth of the yogurt portfolio and establishing Chobani in the non-dairy milk segment which is experiencing a significant uplift with Australians who are choosing to incorporate plant-based products into their diet,” said Chobani head of marketing, Steven Blakers.
“The Match & Wood team impressed us with their strategic and data capabilities, integrated planning, and a thorough understanding of the grocery and trade landscape. There is also a clear synergy in our brand values and a strong cultural fit, and we look forward to working with the team to realise our strategic objectives.”
Match & Wood CEO, Lyndelle O’Keefe, added, “Chobani have an origin story and mission that truly resonates with us, and it’s been wonderful to see it become a loved and powerhouse brand in Australia over a relatively short time.
“We’re delighted to have been appointed, against competition from global network agencies, to continue the impressive success they have enjoyed over the past decade.”
The win follows a strong year for Match & Wood which saw staff numbers double and a growing client list including Curtin University, Speedo, HIF Australia, COSBOA, Pentanet, Private Healthcare Australia, Summit Homes Group and Synergy.
