Comedian Charlie Pickering has nabbed a gig doing ABC’s Melbourne Breakfast radio on Fridays.
10’s former Project host, Pickering, will replace fellow comedian and mate Sammy J but only on Fridays.
Don’t panic, though! Sammy J will continue to do the Monday-Thursday breakfast shift.

The ABC reported that Sammy J said: “I’ve been doing a number of jobs, and I want to keep doing them all. This is a way of doing everything that I love doing.”
While Pickering said: “I grew up listening to 774 … to me, that’s the sound of Melbourne. I’m really glad that I can throw my voice into the ring.”
ABC Radio’s Melbourne manager Dina Rosendorff tweeted her delight at the news and wrote: “Couldn’t be more pleased to welcome @charliepick to our @abcmelbourne family.”
