Cairns Crocodiles, Presented by Pinterest, has announced that the 2026 Cairns Crocodiles Southeast Asia Campaign of the Year Award will be dedicated to the memory of Sompat Trisadikun.
Trisadikun was the admired and much-loved chief creative officer of Grey Thailand who passed away in 2025.
Cairns Crocodiles adviser Greg ‘Sparrow’ Graham said the decision to honour Sompat through the 2026 award felt both natural and important.
“Sompat’s influence on Southeast Asian creativity was deep and far-reaching and we really felt that when on our Cairns Crocodiles tour visiting the region,” Sparrow said.
“Dedicating this year’s Southeast Asia Campaign award to him is our way of celebrating the energy, kindness and imagination he brought to the industry.”
Renowned for his compassion, originality and generosity of spirit, Trisadikun helped elevate Thailand’s creative reputation on the global stage and inspired countless creatives across the region.
Part of the Cairns Crocodiles Awards, this specific award recognises the most impactful and culturally resonant campaign created in or for Southeast Asia during the eligibility period, reflecting the type of work Sompat consistently championed during his career.
Grey Thailand has welcomed the tribute, with Jiradej Penglengpol (KP), executive creative director of Grey Thailand, telling B&T that beyond his creative work, Sompat shaped a way of being that brought people together — not just through ideas, but through how he treated others.
“He was a true role model as a leader, colleague, friend, senior, and junior,” Penglengpol said.
“What he left behind goes far beyond the work itself. His values continue to help us grow, not only as creatives, but as better human beings. We hope his spirit will continue to inspire those who come after him.”
The Southeast Asia Campaign of the Year Award (2026) will be presented at the Cairns Crocodiles Awards in Cairns.
The awards take place on day three of Cairns Crocodiles Presented by Pinterest, Thursday May 14th 2026 at 4pm
