“Born For This Moment!” Phil McCann Reports On UK Petrol Crisis And, Yep, The Gags Are Writing Themselves

As those with their nose in the news would know, Britain is currently suffering petrol shortages the nation over brought on by a lack of truck drivers to deliver the stuff. Apparently, it’s all Brexit’s fault or not Brexit’s fault or something.

Obviously a big news story that led the BBC’s Saturday morning coverage over the weekend.

And who better to report on a fuel shortage than the aptly named Phil McCann (Get it? Fill my can!)

McCann was sent to report on alleged panic buying by customers at a BP service station in Stockport in Manchester when viewers noticed the apt hilarity in the reporter’s name.

And, proof it’s always good to laugh in a crisis, social media soon lit up at the wonderful irony in the report.
