News Australia owned publication Body+Soul is set to launch the findings of its annual Sex Census this Sunday, August 30, kicking off a four-week multi-platform editorial campaign in the lead-up to World Sexual Health Day (September 4).
The nationwide survey of more than 2,000 people aged 18-80 uncovers how the country’s attitudes, habits and behaviours towards sexual health, dating and relationships have evolved over the last 12 months, revealing surprising new insights, particularly around the influence of AI and how Aussies are navigating the modern dating scene.
Experts, including Body+Soul resident sexologist Chantelle Otten and dating expert Sera Bozza, will tackle key focus areas identified in the Census, from optimising dating profiles to building stronger long-term relationships, via socially-led video and columns for bodyandsoul.com.au.
“Since the launch of Body+Soul more than 20 years ago, we’ve never been afraid to tackle taboos. From the orgasm gap to the rise of non-monogamy, we’ve made it our mission to normalise conversations in this space and monitor the trends shaping the nation’s sexual landscape,” said Body+Soul content director Jacqui Mooney.
“In 2026, it’s safe to say there’s a lot to talk about – from the impact of AI to midlife sexual awakenings, the troubling return of traditional values among Gen Z men and what actually constitutes cheating in our increasingly online world.”
In week one, Body+Soul examines what’s really going on in Australian bedrooms with a deep dive into the data, asks Otten for the secret to having more spontaneous sex – something 30 per cent of Australians, stressed out by the cost of living, kids and work, said they wanted – and speaks to a pelvic floor physio about her life-changing work with women.
All editorial and video content will be available at bodyandsoul, complemented by amplification on news.com.au and print rollout across The Sunday Telegraph (NSW), Sunday Herald Sun (VIC), The Sunday Mail (QLD) and Sunday Mail (SA). A national multi-channel marketing campaign across print, digital and social will support the launch.
The annual initiative consistently drives peak digital engagement for the brand. During last year’s campaign, September delivered Body+Soul’s highest online audience month of the year, reaching 1.08 million, a 48 per cent increase on the previous month.
