If ever you needed proof that a great idea beats a massive budget most of the time then look no further than the work of British filmmaker Phil Beastall.

This time last year Beastall was the toast of adland for a Christmas ad he made for a mere £50 ($A95) that he hoped – and eventually proved successfully – would show-up the efforts of the huge budget efforts of John Lewis, ALDI and Iceland. Check out the spot here.

In fact, Beastall has been making Christmas ads as far back as 2014 before last year’s effort went viral, heaping pressure on 2019’s efforts.

And, here it is. Called “Made for you”, again Beastall proves some killer dialogue can beat a swag of cash every time.

Commenting on his latest work, Beastall wrote on Twitter: “Christmas is a time for happiness, love and belonging. I’m excited to share this year’s Christmas film.

“Last year was huge for me when ‘Love is a Gift’ went viral and was viewed around the world by millions with the original post shared 200,000 times!”
