Blackmagic Design has shared how its products were used to shoot the latest commercial campaign for Chris Hemsworth’s fitness training app, Centr.
The new campaign, which promotes the progressive 10 week workout plan ‘Power’ replicates the same protocols used to prepare the actor for his latest appearance in the upcoming Marvel franchise film, Thor: Love and Thunder.
Acclaimed Sydney-based director and cinematographer Anthony Rose filmed the Centr commercial entirely on Blackmagic Design’s URSA Mini G2 and LUT monitor.
Blackmagic Design is an Australian film-tech company responsible for 90 per cent of all Hollywood films and its founder, Grant Petty, was a recent entrant into this year’s Rich List.

Mirroring the authenticity of previous Centr campaigns, the commercials follows Hemsworth during a workout with personal trainer Luke Socchi, accentuating the raw nature of building a physique similar to the Thor star whilst offering followers the chance to take part in the physical challenge Hemsworth undertakes prior to filming.
Anthony Rose noted that after a long day on the Thor set, Hemsworth “decided that he wanted a completely different look for his power video, something raw and authentic and wanted to shoot immediately”, requiring Anthony Rose to switch gears and move to the Blackmagic Design hand-held device for a more veracious approach and it allowed the production team to get the shots they needed.”
After the shift from a stylised approach to the more natural, “we opened up the door to reveal the stone wall outside that 20 minutes earlier had horrible light on it, but, by now the sun had come down a lot making the exterior of the wall shootable. Chris started to move weights outside and I just picked up my camera and started shooting”.
