A new ad for Filipino bakery chain Julie’s Bakeshop is a delightfully wacky endeavour which just a smidge of body horror.
The ad sees two middle-aged women working out in a gym before a gym-rat starts mocking them, predictably finding his own jokes hilarious.
As he continues to belittle the women, the eponymous Julie appears and turns him into a pile of dough. As he continues to amuse himself with his insults, Julie turns him into rolls and bakes him.
Yum?
The ad, directed by Marius Talampas, celebrates the brand’s 40th anniversary, as evidenced by the line ‘you can still be fresh, even at 40’, #StopAuntieShaming.
