Queensland player Billy Slater calmly dealt with a journo who asked if his team’s State Of Origin performance was an “embarrassment.”
The second Origin match saw NSW take it home after Queensland won the first match. In the second match, NSW claimed the win with a 28-point win.
There’s no denying it was a tough game for Queensland, but this just makes the third match all the more interesting.

However, Slater and captain Daly Cherry-Evans had the not very fun job of having to front the media after the loss.
A journo didn’t hold back and asked the captain if the score was an “embarrassment for Queensland?”
Daly Cherry-Evans said: “Geez, they are big words and there’s a lot of titles and headlines the media like to put on certain performances.
“The reality is that is what happened, that was the scoreline. These are my teammates, there is not one person that didn’t try their hardest out there tonight. It probably looked like we lost a fair bit of concentration for 30 minutes but I can’t question the effort we put out there.”
The press moved on, but when Slater was asked an entirely different question minutes later, he went back to the reporter’s original comments about, “embarrassment.
He said: “Going back on the embarrassment thing, I think Queensland will be proud of their team, they put in a whole heap of effort Queensland would be proud.”
It’ll be interesting to see who wins in game three.
