Presented by Finecast, Best of the Best will bring something unique to this year’s awards season. While most awards focus on the work of an agency or company as a whole, Best of the Best will celebrate the immense individual talent on show in every area of advertising, marketing and media.
Our Best of the Best awards will also be celebrating the people who continue to do the most, with categories for mentors and social change-makers.
You can find a breakdown of all the different categories here, along with a downloadable file outlining the full submission criteria.
Come on, you know you want to enter! Head on over HERE to complete your submission/s by Friday 25 June 2021.
To inspire you even more to enter Best of the Best, we’ve started publishing some fab interviews with a number of senior folk from Finecast and the broader WPP AUNZ network.
Next up is Georgina Fox, national head of investment at Finecast. Enjoy…
Best piece of career advice…
Be nice … to absolutely everyone! AKA, never burn bridges!
Best agency in Australia at the moment (that’s not yours) and why…
I’ve always been amazed by the work of creative agencies, so I would say M&C Saatchi for their work on the new Tourism Australia campaign.
Best industry leader and why…
I have worked with and observed some remarkable leaders – it’s hard to choose one! That said, our Finecast managing director and my boss Brett Poole is incredible. His approach to our business and, importantly, our people is extremely admirable. He is an amazing storyteller whose authenticity and determination have combined to empower the growth trajectory we are on.
Best mentor in your life/career and why…
Venessa Hunt. Ness was my boss for some time at GroupM, and the way she dealt with the enormity of her role and tasks with so much grace, but so much of the human element was powerful to see. I learnt and continue to learn so much from her and the way she approaches life, people and work.
Best brand you’ve never worked on and why…
Patagonia. As an outdoor enthusiast, I am never not impressed at both their products and their practices. Known for their approach to corporate social responsibility and how seriously they take it, it makes it a very attractive brand!
Best song for inspiration and why…
“Fire” by Peking Duk. Anytime I hit a tough spot mentally or physically on a run, this song always makes me go that bit harder!
Best mistake you’ve ever made…
Back when I was 19, I broke my wrist in Vancouver, which meant I couldn’t take the job I was originally supposed to as a server. Consequently, I took a very different turn and spent months in a different city to what was planned.
Best rumour you’ve heard about yourself…
I haven’t heard too many about myself (people must be keeping tight-lipped around me), but anyone spreading rumours that TV is dying clearly hasn’t seen a Finecast presentation – it’s alive and well!
Best ad of the past decade and why…
Nike’s ‘Dream Crazier’. It shines a spotlight on female athletes who have broken barriers, brought people together through their performance and inspired generations of athletes to chase after their dreams. The campaign empowers females and all people to continue to push their own relative boundaries and really hits that sweet spot where it makes you feel something.
Best guilty pleasure…
Reading innumerable chit lit/rom com books on my Kindle when I should be fast asleep or reading something non-fiction!
