Blossom, a five-year-old Aussie fintech and fixed income investment platform, has unveiled a new brand identity that puts customers’ savings goals at the centre of its proposition, reflecting the business’s evolution and insights from customer research.
Since its launch in 2021, Blossom’s customers have shown the business that there is almost always something specific behind the money they put into the Blossom Fund: a first home, a holiday, a rainy-day buffer, their kids, or a future still taking shape. Blossom’s customer research reinforced that beyond competitive returns, customers value the simplicity of the experience, the ability to see their earnings grow daily and the feeling of making tangible progress towards their goals.
The new brand identity and proposition, Purpose-Built Saving, brings these insights to life, putting the purpose behind saving at the forefront of Blossom’s identity, and more clearly expressing the role it plays in customers’ lives.
Blossom now describes itself as a savings and investment app, designed to help people put their savings to work towards the things that matter to them. Professionally managed fixed income is still what powers Blossom, with clear target returns, easy access and earnings posted daily, while the new brand places greater emphasis on the customer experience and the progress being made.
Blossom has been built for people who want their money working harder, without having to actively manage investments or navigate the ups and downs of share markets. Customer research identified a compelling opportunity for Blossom to occupy that space – the sweet spot, and it’s where the new brand line, Your Savings Sweet Spot, comes from.
“For five years we spent a lot of time explaining fixed income. Our customers, meanwhile, kept telling us what the money was actually for. We’ve learned that people don’t save for the sake of it. They save for something. This rebrand is us listening to our customers and reflecting what Blossom means in their lives. We’ve grown significantly over the last five years, and we wanted our brand to grow with us. Our ambition is to make Blossom the first place Australians and Kiwis think of when they’re putting money towards something bigger,” said Ali Rosenberg, co-founder, Blossom.
The new look and feel for Blossom was developed with SUPERHAUS, who were responsible for refining Blossom’s visual identity, across all touchpoints.
“Blossom had outgrown its original identity, and our challenge was to create a brand that reflected the growth of the business and spoke directly to the needs of its core customer – balancing the credibility of a finance platform with a grounded humanity,” said Belinda O’Brien, founder and creative director, SUPERHAUS.
“What stood out was how personal saving really is. Behind every dollar is something someone is working towards, and we wanted the brand to carry that sense of purpose and momentum. The Sweet Spot became the heart of the new identity. We brought it to life through a distinctive brandmark that opened up a full, scalable graphic system, building brand familiarity and a confident, enduring visual language.”
The refreshed identity marks a new chapter for Blossom, bringing greater maturity and confidence to the brand while retaining the warmth, optimism and simplicity that customers have come to know. The new visual identity is built around the concept of the Sweet Spot, represented at the centre of Blossom’s new brandmark. Four interconnected Blossom B’s surround the centre, symbolising compounding, momentum and the progress customers make towards their goals.
The evolution extends into the Blossom app, which has also undergone a visual refresh. Updated screens bring the new brand identity into the everyday customer experience, with a more refined, cohesive look and feel that builds on the simplicity and ease of use customers already value.
Despite the rebrand, Blossom’s offering remains unchanged.
