ASTRA Awards On March 12

Australia’s subscription television industry will come together in Sydney on Thursday March 12 to celebrate the annual ASTRA Awards.

This year’s awards will be staged at The Star in Pyrmont for the first time.

“ASTRA is delighted to be partnering with The Star, which will be a superb venue to host the largest-ever ASTRA Awards,” ASTRA CEO Andrew Maiden said.

“The annual ASTRA Awards are well known for celebrating the quality, creativity and diversity of content on Australian subscription screens.

“The 2015 ASTRA Awards will mark subscription television’s 20th anniversary, bringing together many stars and leaders from the industry’s history,” Mr. Maiden said.

Finalists in this year’s 18 awards categories will be announced next week (Tuesday February 10). In 2015 – also for the first time – a large number of leaders from the wider creative industries have joined subscription television executives on judging panels, determining finalists and winners.

Included on the independent panels have been leading producers, directors, writers, actors, presenters, educators, funders, executives and leaders of screen agencies from a majority of states and territories
