Australian Radio Network (ARN) has announced the promotion of Deb Clay to the role of national news director, following a review of its news strategy.
The radio network said in a statement that Clay’s appointment to the newly-created position will provide a more streamlined format in line with other key areas of the business.
However, Clay’s appointment does not come without casualties for ARN, with Emily Hoskins forced to leave the company dues to her position as news director for Melbourne and Adelaide being made redundant.
ARN national content director Duncan Campbell thanked Hoskins for her contribution to the network during her 14-year tenure.
“She is a passionate news person and has taken great pride in the level of news content Melbourne and Adelaide produces,” Campbell said.
“I would like to personally thank Emily for all her hard work and commitment to ARN and wish her the very best.”
