Are you a vibrant female seeking a dragon tattoo? If so publisher Hachette has your back. Quite literally.
The publisher, in conjunction with Sydney creative outfit, Joy Agency, is looking for a brave female to go under the needle to promote the fourth installment of the Millenium series, The Girl in the Spider’s Web.
Labelling the stunt ‘Tatvertising’, the lucky ‘victim’, who the organisers hope “embodies the same spirit” as the star of the series – and first book, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo – Lisbeth Salander, will undergo two four-hour inking sessions at renowned Bondi tattooist Kaleidoscope.
Zoe Young from Joy agency told B&T: “The idea for the campaign launching The Girl in the Spider’s Web came from the insight that Lisbeth Salander has reached a cult status amongst people who have read the books.
“We were presented with a great creative opportunity to give die hard fans a chance to mark her return by doing something that really lives up to her fiercely defiant character.”
The campaign will follow the successful candidate through the two permanent tattoo sessions, with the end result being that they become ‘the back’ of a national campaign, with their tat photographed and emblazoned across outdoor media throughout Australia.
“The ideal candidate,” added Zoe, “therefore, is someone who embodies the same fearless and rebellious nature as Lisbeth.”
