It appears UK retailer John Lewis is not having things all its own way in the Christmas ad wars. Only a few days after unveiling its highly-anticpated campaign for the 2016 festive season, rival ALDI has hit back with its own TVC that appears to take the piss out of its rival.

The ALDI ad features Kevin the Carrot getting into a tizz about the new John Lewis ad – as many Brits do, apparently.
However, as the ad ends we clearly see a shopping bag that proves our vegetable friend has been shopping at ALDI.
There are reports in the UK that many people actually prefer ALDI’s spot over its rival who, arguably, paid a pittance for their campaign when you consider the production values of the John Lewis ad.
Media reports have said the John Lewis commercial cost £1 million ($A1.6 million) and a whopping £6 million ($A 9.6 million) in media spend.
