GfK, the official provider of radio ratings for Commercial Radio Australia, today released its first survey for the year, with Macquarie’s 2GB continuing to lose market share in Sydney’s brekkie slot without Alan Jones.
The controversial shock jock announced late last year that he would step away from the microphone over the summer to have a series of operations on his back and neck, and is set to return next month.
Since vacating the hot seat on 2GB, the station has continued to bleed market share in the radio ratings, with a 2.4 per cent drop in December, and a 1.6 per cent drop in the first survey for 2017.
However, 2GB is still holding on to top spot in Sydney’s breakfast slot, taking its number of consecutive victories to 102.
