The Australian Financial Review Magazine has launched a bumper 52-page special Watch issue in conjunction with the launch of Watch Dynamic; an innovative and interactive digital version of the magazine, providing readers even more ways to engage with its leading watch content.

Katrina Strickland, Editor of The AFR Magazine, said: “We at The AFR Magazine have been looking for some time for a way to replicate the look and feel, and the high production values, of our sumptuous print title online. We have finally found it – with attributes including the ability to zoom in and out on particular watches, click through to stockist information and watch videos for both editorial and advertising.”

One of the many benefits of Watch Dynamic is the ability to capture audience data, including intention to purchase, based on clicks on the “shop now” button.

The AFR Magazine was the first mainstream title in the country to write seriously about watches. It launched the inserted Watch magazine nine years ago, helmed by the man widely regarded as the best watch commentator in the country, Bani McSpedden. This year, for the third year in a row, the August Watch insert, stapled inside the August AFR Magazine which has Frank Lowy on the cover, stands at a record 52 pages. Together with the host magazine this takes the August issue to a bumper 112 pages.

Bani McSpedden, Watch editor The Australian Financial Review and watch-next.com, said: “The dynamic edition of Watch is a first that completely and fabulously changes the way you can view a watch and access details about it. Simply clicking on the image lets you zoom in, while another click can tell you who to contact for purchase. It allows advertisements to come to life with enhanced images and video and will have audiences falling in love with timepieces all over again. It’s not only dynamic – it’s dynamite.”

Watch Dynamic is being promoted across AFR.com, Executive Style and watch-next.com.
