Polish That CV! Advertising, PR And Sales Jobs Up 32%

Australian professionals looking for work in advertising or PR are in luck, according to new research.

Advertising, Public Relations and Sales Managers ranked second on the list of ‘top 80 biggest growing jobs in Australia’, released by The Demographics Group.

Between 2016 and 2019, there have been 41,731 new positions across these fields, representing and increase of 32 per cent.

This was second only to Checkout Operators and Office Cashiers, which added 91,202 new jobs with 69 per cent growth.

But the strong growth in advertising, PR and sales is not consistent with the wider industry.

Journalists and Other Writers featured on the ‘jobs in decline’ list at 28th spot.

There has been a decline of 4,293 journalist/writing jobs since 2016 according to the research, down 18 per cent.

Business leaders are also at risk according to the findings, with CEOs and managing directors ranking second on the jobs in decline list.

These leadership roles dipped 52 per cent in the past three years, down 31,648 positions.
