Ad Aimed At Cool Hipster Creatives Labelled As “Depressing” And “Beyond Awful”

An outdoor campaign on London’s Underground has been labelled the most “irresponsible” ad ever for condoning long working hours for not much money.

The ad is for UK firm Fiverr which basically allows creative people – copywriters, website design and graphic designers, etc – to offer their services for as little as £5 ($A8).

If that doesn’t seem exploitative enough, it seems to advocate long hours, skipping lunch and missing sleep. Even the featured model looks a bit junkie vampire too.

In a case of “what was the copywriter thinking?” the ad reads: “You eat a coffee for lunch. You follow through on your follow through. Sleep deprivation is your drug of choice. You might be a doer.”

Cue immediate social media rage with people calling the ad “irresponsible”, “miserable” and aimed at people who have a “wholly unfulfilling life” for condoning a work hard/pay peanuts lifestyle.

Some of the choice rage – first reported on the UK’s The Independent – included:
