Acorn Strategy, the award-winning, strategy-led marketing, public relations, digital and creative agency, has announced an exciting expansion with its new office location in Melbourne, Australia, and the recent appointment of a new general manager of its operations there.

With this move, the agency has strengthened its international presence and firmed up its growth path in the Australian market.

Acorn Strategy’s new office in Melbourne, Victoria, comes after three years of the agency establishing its presence in Perth, which will continue to operate as usual. The Melbourne office will also act as the agency’s Australian headquarters and will contribute significantly to its goal of helping brands grow through data-led and strategic marketing and communications.

To spearhead its new growth phase, Acorn Strategy has recently appointed Suzannah Marinkovic (pictured), a marketing and communications expert with over 23 years of industry experience in Australia, as general manager.

She will oversee the agency’s expansion on both the East and West coasts, leading the agency’s strategic and operational teams and client requirements. She brings a wealth of marketing communications experience, having worked across sectors including tourism, arts and culture, government, media, food and wine and transport.

Welcoming Suzannah Marinkovic to the new office and Australia headquarters in Melbourne, Kate Midttun, founder and CEO of Acorn Strategy said: “We are not only keen to be closer to our clients but also to be positioned to serve them better.”

“Our move for a new office at this time makes eminent sense as Australia is re-opening for business, and we are seeing client demand for marketing and communications increase post-pandemic.”

“Suzannah shares our vision, and we are excited to have her leading the charge, she is ideally suited to help clients take advantage of the changed business environment that the country finds itself in today. We look forward to working with her as she builds upon our Australia team and client roster.”

Suzannah Marinkovic, general manager of Acorn Strategy Australia, added: “It’s a time of great opportunity for a marketing communications business in Australia as new projects and brands are coming out of hibernation and businesses are responding to the forever-changed landscape.”

“I’m pleased to join such a forward-thinking company and feel that there is definite appetite in the Australian market for new and focused thinking, particularly in solving business challenges both from a strategic and creative perspective.  With change, comes opportunity and I believe we are certainly on the path to see more positive announcements for the business very soon.”

The appointment of Marinkovic as general manager follows the transition of Annabel Amann from the role of general manager to the role of global client experience director. With Amann’s seven-year history with the agency in UAE and Australia, 20 years in the industry, she has been instrumental in the growth and development of Acorn Strategy.

Midttun added “Our substantial growth over the last year has led us to look at ways that we can better serve our clients and innovate for and with them. The appointment of Annabel Amann to global client experience Director allows us to forge forward with our client-centric approach, allowing our clients a consistent approach regardless of whether they work with us in Melbourne, Perth, Dubai, or Abu Dhabi.”

Acorn Strategy has been working in the Australian market from its Perth office since March 2018. With a growing demand for its expertise and services across the country, it is committed to expanding further in the coming year.
