The Canadian version of protein-free milk, a2, has unveiled a riotous new spot that manages to draw comparisons between being catfished on dating apps and that its dairy brand is unique from other ordinary milk.
The spot’s the work of Toronto-based agency Zulu Alpha Kilo and kinda cooly lets three ads roll into one.
For those unaware of the term catfishing, it’s when someone gives themselves an online alias that is often far removed from actuality.
B&T’s not entirely sure how protein-free milk, online dating and a large, oversized talking catfish even works, but it does in this wonderful romp of a campaign.
Brian Murray, executive creative director at Zulu Alpha Kilo, said of the work: “For us, it was about stopping power and being able to get people to think about milk in a different way. We purposely avoided any dairy tropes and took an unconventional path that highlights the attributes of a2 Milk in a way that will resonate. We’re excited to see it launch!”
