The actor and wellness entrepreneur, Gwyneth Paltrow, has been labelled “tone-deaf” and “cringeworthy” after her website posted a Christmas gift guide of obscenely expensive items that included a $US15,000 ($A22,700) 24-karat gold vibrator.

The 51-year old’s wellness site Goop ran the guide for readers after its editors reportedly spent months “seeking out and testing options, so when the holiday season rolls around, we’re ready”.

Dildos aside, the gift suggestions included a $A60,000-a-night stay at Fiji eco resort Turtle Island. A $A3000 Hermes dog house, $A7500 Chanel roller skates, a $A22,400 Alexandra Llewellyn backgammon set, a $3000 gong and even a $A600 slice of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese.

The Christmas gift guide soon made it onto Reddit were it was quickly slammed by users.

“These are so hilariously out of touch that I actually find them delightful,” one person wrote.

Another penned: “Everything she does is like a parody of a tone-deaf wealthy person.”

“There’s a ton of expensive shit on here but ‘find your perfect gong with the help of a gong master’ was truly the most bizarre,” another added.

On the 60-grand Fiji holiday, one person wrote: “God that made me cringe. Like, are the Fijians getting paid an equitable amount of that 30,000-ish [US dollars] a day for being part of the tourist experience? Just gross.”

“If [Gwyneth] someday comes out and says that this entire persona was an intricate piece of performance art, I would support her getting an Oscar just for that,” penned another.

Paltrow hasn’t commented on the backlash, however the gift guide wasn’t all ridiculously expensive.  It also boasted a number of gift ideas under $US100 including a $US45 pack of straws, a $US95 set of cheese knives, and a $US28 dreidel (a traditional Jewish spinning top.)

In 2020, Paltrow scored herself some global press after she famously sold a scented candle that she claimed smelled like her vagina. The candle was reportedly a sell out.
