The Monkeys' Micah Walker leaves for US

The Monkeys’ Micah Walker is leaving the independent agency after two years to join Wieden+Kennedy in Portland.

The move to the US state of Oregon comes after two years as The Monkeys’ executive creative director and partner.

“We’ve made some work that I’m really proud of and I really believe the Monkeys is the most interesting agency in this country,” Walker said.

“We’re leaving behind some good friends, but this was just one opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”

Walker’s final day with the agency is December 20 and there are currently no plans to fill the creative partner role he is vacating.

The creative was described as a “unique talent” by the agency’s co-founder and chief creative officer, Justin Drape.

“He has made his mark not just here at The Monkeys but on the industry as a whole. We’ve enjoyed working with him during the last couple of years and wish him and his family all the best in everything that lies ahead for them in Portland.”

Before joining The Monkeys in February 2012 Walker was with Publicis Mojo Sydney for four years. He was previously creative partner at Fallon London.
