The Bachelor, Channel Ten’s great reality TV hope, has been told to pack its bags from its Sunday night timeslot and find a new home on Wednesday night at 7.30pm.
The moves comes after two disappointing outings for the program, which last night only managed 576,000 viewers, according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTam show.
For the next two Sundays, Ten will run Great Bear Stake Out With Billy Connolly in 7.30pm timeslot. Beyond that, is to be advised a Network Ten spokesperson advised.
“We are very proud of The Bachelor and moving it to Wednesday nights will give it an opportunity to reach more Australians.
“The Bachelor has clearly struck a chord with some viewers, particularly women".
The first three episodes ranked number 1 in their timeslot with women aged 25 to 39 and number 2 with all people aged under 40,” the spokesperson said.
Channel Ten has languished in the ratings this year after a string of disappointing shows including The Shire, Everybody Dance Now and MasterChef, which lost most of its former glory.
