Ten Network director Siobhan McKenna has been appointed as the new chairperson of the National Broadband Network (NBN).
McKenna, who is also a director at DMG Radio and managing partner of Illyria, Lachlan Murdoch's investment company, will replace outgoing chair Harrison Young.
Young has decided not to stand for reappointment after his three-year term expired earlier this month.
McKenna has sat on NBN’s board for three years and took her position as the new chair at a meeting yesterday afternoon.
She joined the board of Ten Network in June last year and is a former director of Prime Media Group.
Minister for Finance and Deregulation, Penny Wong, said that McKenna brings “extensive experience to the role and her expertise will help guide NBN as it rolls out the NBN”.
