Metropolitan radio advertising revenue has climbed for the six month running with all five markets posting an increase in July, Commercial Radio Australia (CRA) figures show.
Ad revenue in July is up 8.97% to $57.044m compared to the previous corresponding period.
Melbourne’s radio market had the greatest growth – exploding by 14.19% to $17.892m. Adelaide posted the next largest leap of 8.49% to $5.1m. Sydney increased by 7.31% to $18m, Perth i up 6.09% to $7.384m and Brisbane grew by 5.12% to $8.66m.
Joan Warner, chief executive CRA, said: “Several factors, including recent political ad spend, have contributed to a very positive start for radio in the new financial year. That this growth is part of an ongoing six-month trend highlights the industry’s strength and resilience”.
For the 2012-13 financial year radio’s ad revenue increased by 0.41% to $683.498m.
The figures are sourced by Deloitte and include actual revenue for the calendar month and include all metro agency and direct revenue.
