News and current affairs dominated last night’s ratings as the only programs to draw audiences above a million viewers.
Nine News won the night, taking 1.14 million, followed by Seven News on 1.09 million and ABC News on 1.02 million. Nine’s A Current Affair sat fourth with 958,000.
Seven’s Home and Away was the most-watched entertainment program, pulling 942,000 viewers in fifth place, followed by Seven’s Today Tonight on 918,000 and The Footy Show (Nine) on 851,000.
RSPCA Animal Rescue on Seven came in eighth with 782,000 while ABC’s 7:30 Report and The Checkout filled the remaining two spots in the top ten, each scoring over 700,000.
Ten News at Five was the network’s highest rating show of the evening in 13th place (636,000 viewers), while Law & Order, Jamie’s 15 Minute Meals and The Project also made it into the top 20, all scoring more than 500,000 viewers each.
Nine won the largest share of audience, securing 29.7% of the night’s viewers, followed by Seven on 24.9%, Ten on 19.5% and ABC on 19.4%. SBS scored 6.6% – 0.6% of which was made up by the newly relaunched SBS2.
