BBC Worldwide’s director of content for Australasia has been hired by the ABC as its new controller of children’s TV.
Deirdre Brennan (pictured), who will replace the departed Tim Brooke-Hunt, previously worked for six years as programmer for ABC Kids, and it will take up the new post early next year.
Brennan joined BBC Worldwide in August 2010 following a three year stint as director of programming at Nickelodeon Australia.
At that time, she was appointed as general manager and director of its channels and branded services business for Australasia, responsible for the development of the local channel portfolio including UKTV, UKTV NZ, BBC Knowledge, BBC Knowledge NZ and CBeebies as well as managing local operations for BBC World News.
