Nine News (1.323m) and Seven News (1.312m) were next, followed by Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year Asia (1.228m) on nine.
The first session of The Ashes pulled in just 489,000, and Nine will be hoping the Australian team can claw a decent result from the final test with a return series starting in just three months time Down Under.
MasterChef was Ten’s best effort with 734,000, with the network pulling just 10.8% audience share, behind Seven on 21.6%, Nine on 21.1% and ABC1 13.5%.
